We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our busy waterside restaurant and friendly kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and confident working in a fast-paced environment while supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining exceptional kitchen standards.

Your job role will include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Leading and motivating the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence.
  • Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to company standards.
  • Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials.
  • Ensuring consistent presentation and quality of all food served.
  • Managing food preparation and service during busy periods.
  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock control.
  • Minimising waste and maintaining GP targets.
  • Ensuring all food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP procedures are followed.
  • Training and developing junior chefs and kitchen staff.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Assisting with rotas and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

What we are looking for:

  • Flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Chef de Partie.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen management.
  • Good verbal and written English.
  • Strong initiative and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for fresh food and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
