We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our busy waterside restaurant and friendly kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and confident working in a fast-paced environment while supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining exceptional kitchen standards.
Your job role will include:
- Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence.
- Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to company standards.
- Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials.
- Ensuring consistent presentation and quality of all food served.
- Managing food preparation and service during busy periods.
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock control.
- Minimising waste and maintaining GP targets.
- Ensuring all food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP procedures are followed.
- Training and developing junior chefs and kitchen staff.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Assisting with rotas and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

What we are looking for:
- Flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Chef de Partie.
