We are looking for an energetic, outdoors-driven Programme Coordinator to lead the DofE programme and support the development of outdoor learning across our wider provision. This role combines:
- Coordination of DofE Programme
- Leading on the Outdoor Learning Offer across the Organisation
Responsibilities include:
- Design and deliver a high-quality, youth-led Outdoor Learning Offer that builds confidence, resilience, environmental awareness, and life skills.
- Drive the Outdoor Learning Offer, creating meaningful outdoor experiences that support young people to explore, learn and grow within a youth work setting.
- Lead and enhance the outdoor learning offer across The BHY provision, including:
- Residentials (e.g. Lake District trips)
- Bushcraft, navigation and outdoor cooking
- Nature-based activities (forests, farms, trails)
- Environmental and sustainability projects
- Outdoor experiences for younger groups and SEND provision
- Duke of Edinburgh Award
- Motivate young people to learn and develop to improve future life chances using outdoor experiences.
- Enable young people to achieve Nationally Recognised Awards.
- Build confidence, resilience and independence.
- Create accessible opportunities for young people across the Fylde Coast.
- Work alongside young people to create innovative outdoor opportunities.
- Manage and run the programme independently, organised and energetic, acting as a strong role model.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience of expeditions, outdoor learning and/or outdoor pursuits (e.g. DofE) is essential.
- A recognised outdoor qualification (e.g. Lowland Leader, Hill & Moorland Leader, Mountain Leader, or equivalent) is highly desirable, or willingness to develop new skills.
- Flexibility to work throughout the year, including weekends and evenings.
- Full clean driving licence.
