Do you have a sharp eye for a story, a love of language and an interest in the world’s most remarkable yachts? We’re looking for a Digital Editor to join our fast‑paced online editorial team based in Wimbledon.

We're seeking an experienced journalist to contribute across BOAT International Media’s two editorial brands: BoatInternational.com and Dockwalk.com. This is also an exciting opportunity for a journalist to help shape and grow a website as Dockwalk.com evolves its online content strategy. We’re particularly interested in candidates with strong website experience who are confident working autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.

This is a strictly editorial role. We are looking for a journalistically trained writer with digital newsroom experience and strong editorial instincts; candidates with primarily copywriting, branded content or PR backgrounds are unlikely to be suitable.

The role

  • To write and edit a mix of content tailored to our luxury audience and generate ideas on a daily basis to enable Dockwalk.com and Boatinternational.com to meet its editorial targets.
  • To generate original story ideas on a daily basis and identify gaps in coverage to ensure content remains authoritative, competitive and relevant to readers.
  • Take an active role in shaping and delivering the evolving digital content strategy across Dockwalk.com, helping identify opportunities for audience growth, engagement and editorial expansion.
  • Monitor content performance and use audience insights to inform commissioning decisions and editorial priorities.
  • Work closely with the Head of Digital Content and Content Director to plan, commission, edit and publish high‑quality digital editorial output.
  • Optimise digital content for SEO, discoverability and audience engagement while maintaining strong editorial integrity.
  • Prepare and edit editorial newsletters and support wider audience development initiatives.
  • To build and maintain strong relationships with the yachting and crew industry in order to source story leads and ensure BOAT International Media remains first to market with breaking news and exclusives.
  • To ensure all published content meets BOAT International Media’s editorial standards for accuracy, authority, clarity, grammar, and tone.
  • Support the creation of multimedia content by preparing and editing images (basic Photoshop) and liaising with the social media team on social media outputs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across editorial, design, events and sales to align content with wider brand and commercial objectives. While you will work alongside commercial teams, this role maintains a clear editorial remit and requires strong editorial independence.

Qualifications

  • Business fluency in English and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work quickly, accurately and independently in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail. Experience producing and editing newsletters is advantageous.
  • Minimum four years’ experience in a digital newsroom, magazine or newspaper environment.
  • Good understanding of digital publishing, audience engagement and website content strategy.
  • Knowledge of the superyacht crew industry.
  • Experience commissioning, editing and managing freelancers or regular contributors independently.
  • Demonstrable experience identifying content opportunities and helping shape editorial coverage to grow digital audiences. Comfortable analysing content performance and using audience insights to inform editorial decisions.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practice and writing optimised editorial copy without compromising journalistic integrity.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop or similar image editing software.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and editorial judgement.

Annual leave – Full‑time benefit is 33 days per year (25 days annual leave plus 8).
