We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer with 4–5 years experience in the building services design environment to join a dynamic international engineering consultancy. The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of mechanical building systems across global projects, working within multidisciplinary teams and contributing to high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions. This role offers exposure to international standards, complex projects, and strong career growth within a global engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering
- Develop mechanical building services designs including: HVAC systems (ventilation, heating, cooling); wet services and plumbing systems; fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants); sustainable and energy-efficient solutions; prepare detailed design calculations and technical reports; produce specifications, schedules, and system layouts; support concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
- Project Delivery
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and structural teams.
- Assist with coordination across multidisciplinary international projects.
- Participate in design reviews and technical workshops.
- Ensure designs align with project timelines and budgets.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure designs comply with international building codes and standards.
- Local regulatory requirements where applicable.
- Sustainability and energy efficiency guidelines.
- Support QA/QC processes and documentation control.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Assist in technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
- Support site visits, inspections, and commissioning where required.
- Contribute to technical presentations and reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng / BSc Eng or equivalent).
- Experience
- 4–5 years experience in mechanical building services design.
- Proven experience within consulting engineering or building design firms.
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of HVAC design principles.
- Exposure to building services coordination.
- Familiarity with: load calculations; equipment selection; system sizing and design documentation.
- Software Proficiency
- AutoCAD (essential)
- Revit / BIM tools (highly advantageous)
- HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, IES, Trace) beneficial
- Competencies
