The Role

Board Intelligence provides technology and advisory services to boards and executives, helping them make smarter decisions and lead with clarity. Our Consulting Division works with some of the world’s most influential boards, guiding them to be more effective, insightful and impactful through data‑driven evaluation and performance reporting. As we expand our consulting services, we are looking for a Director who combines commercial drive, consulting expertise and boardroom credibility. This role is pivotal in shaping and growing our consulting business – responsible for selling (c.75%) and delivering (c.25%) board governance projects & solutions. You will be accountable for developing new business from both new and existing client relationships, designing client engagements, and representing our brand with distinction with boards and executive teams. You will have a particular focus on board evaluation, board development & board governance reviews. This is an opportunity to join a fast‑growing business at an inflection point, where you’ll have significant scope to shape how we engage with the market and deliver value to the world’s top decision‑makers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Commercial Growth (c.75% of time)
  • Proactively build and convert a pipeline of consulting opportunities with FTSE and large‑medium sized (or divisions of larger) private companies.
  • Proactively prospecting, as well as qualifying and pursuing marketing‑generated leads – with a focus on in‑person networking in London.
  • Craft compelling, tailored proposals that address board and executive challenges.
  • Build trusted, long‑term relationships with senior clients (Chairs, CEOs, CFOs, Co‑Secs and senior executives) acting as a peer‑level advisor.
  • Partner closely with the wider Consulting and Revenue team to identify cross‑sell opportunities and integrate technology‑led solutions into advisory offerings.
  • Represent Board Intelligence at external events, conferences and roundtables, building visibility and thought leadership.
  • Contribute to marketing and go‑to‑market strategy, ensuring our proposition remains differentiated and relevant to the evolving governance landscape.
  • Share insights with our Product team to better serve our clients’ needs, with the future potential to leverage BI’s extensive development team and technology to shape solutions aligned to the market needs for board evaluation & development.
  • Project Delivery (c.25%)
    • Lead and oversee the design and delivery of consulting engagements, ensuring exceptional quality and impact.
    • Facilitate board and executive workshops, driving insightful and outcomes‑focused discussions.
    • Ensure consistent quality assurance, client satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Demonstrable experience in sales, governance or consulting roles – ideally within a top‑tier or boutique consulting firm or major FS firm.
    • Understanding of the Financial Services industry, with an understanding of governance and regulatory requirements within the industry would be highly beneficial.
    • Proven success in selling and delivering to senior executives and boards.
    • Strong understanding of board governance, board evaluation & board development, and the EQ required to do this work.
    • Track record of exceeding commercial targets and growing client accounts.
    • Exposure to technology‑led transformation, ideally within SaaS or digital advisory environments.

    • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and data visualisation; confident using AI tools to enhance productivity and analysis.
