Board Intelligence is a technology and advisory firm on a mission to make boards more effective — and through them, build better businesses and benefit society. We do this through a suite of AI powered software tools, evaluation frameworks, and advisory services, built on twenty years of boardroom experience. Our work improves how boards operate and how leaders make decisions at the highest level. We work with over 80,000 leaders and 3,000 organisations globally, including clients across the Fortune 500, FTSE 100, and OMX 30. In 2024 we received substantial backing from K1 Investment Management, the leading B2B Enterprise SaaS investor, marking the start of a significant new chapter for the business. We are growing and growing fast. That means real opportunities for the people who join us now — to shape how we scale, to work at the intersection of AI and governance, and to do some of the most commercially and intellectually interesting work in their careers. We are also deliberate about how we grow. Our founders and leadership team are deeply invested in keeping the culture that got us here: thoughtful, high calibre, and genuinely human. We are a company where ambition and balance are not in competition. If that sounds like the right environment for you, we would love to hear from you.

Our Mission

We unleash the potential of organisations through the science of board effectiveness, building better businesses and benefiting society.

The Role

This is a blended role that combines hands on commercial paralegal work with legal operations build. You will design the processes, playbooks and platforms that let the function scale as Board Intelligence grows globally. The role reflects how in house legal is now practised, with law and operations treated as one discipline rather than two. Reporting to the Legal Director, you will partner with Sales, Finance, Operations, Product and regional stakeholders to support our commercial activity and core business as usual. You will help triage and progress sell side and procurement work under supervision, reduce friction, improve speed to signature, and own the underlying processes, templates and tooling that make consistent risk decisions possible as we scale across upsells and expansions, net new enterprise procurement, and entry into new markets. We are hiring primarily for potential, commercial instinct and a builder’s mindset. You will already have meaningful paralegal experience and a clear ambition to develop your practice. If you are ready to step beyond task execution into building how an in house legal function runs, this is the role for you.

Main Responsibilities

  • Commercial contracting support across buy side and sell side, including first draft NDAs, order forms, amendments and supplier agreements.
  • Core legal support across all Board Intelligence trading entities.
  • Company secretarial support, including governance processes, entity maintenance, approvals, and coordination with external providers as needed.
  • Supporting the Legal Director on higher complexity or higher value arrangements, coordinating stakeholder input, tracking internal approvals, and managing the execution workflow.
  • Supporting regulatory documentation, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), AI schedules and other privacy and security addenda as required.
  • Acting as the key contact for contract lifecycle and obligation management, supporting tracking, post signature compliance and operationalisation of key obligations.
  • Providing sell side commercial support by keeping deals moving, applying the team’s standard positions and fallbacks from the playbook, and escalating non standard asks with options.
  • Sell side and procurement diligence support, including responding to enterprise procurement processes and coordinating inputs across security, privacy, finance and operations.
  • Data privacy and digital regulatory enablement, embedding consistent positions and workable processes that support scaling across regions.
  • Post M&A integration delivery, including contract novations and assignments, harmonisation of templates and processes, and issue triage.
  • Legal operations, a core part of the role: owning day to day development of templates, playbooks and clause libraries, helping select, implement and administer CLM and adjacent legal tech such as electronic signature, intake and AI assisted review, designing intake and triage workflows, and building the reporting that lets us run the function on data.
  • Ad hoc legal support for cross functional initiatives as required.

You are an experienced paralegal, or equivalent, with strong commercial contracting exposure and a genuine interest in legal operations. You are comfortable in a scaling, global SaaS and technology environment and ready for your next challenge. You bring:

  • A practical, commercial mindset and comfort working with ambiguity during transition and change.
  • The instinct to take initiative and surface options, not only raise issues, with a developing sense of how to balance commercial outcomes against risk.
  • An interest in improving how things work globally, not only doing the work locally.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence without authority across regions.
  • Ambition to grow into a role with greater ownership and impact.

Required Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Meaningful in house or private practice paralegal experience, typically three years or more. This is indicative, and we welcome applications from candidates at slightly earlier or later stages where the experience is compelling.
  • Hands on experience drafting commercial agreements such as NDAs, order forms and supplier agreements, and supporting negotiations in a fast paced environment, ideally SaaS or technology, in house and/or in private practice.
  • Familiarity with a range of commercial agreements such as NDAs, order forms and supplier contracts, with exposure to MSAs.
  • Confidence partnering with senior business stakeholders across functions and geographies, including supporting Sales on upsells and renewals and enterprise procurement cycles.
  • Exposure to working with Sales or commercial teams in a high volume or scaling environment.
  • Real enthusiasm for legal tech and AI enablement, with evidence of self starting adoption such as CLM, contract automation, playbooks and knowledge bases, electronic signature, and AI assisted drafting and review. You do not need to have built these at scale, but you should have opinions on how they should work and ideas for how to make them better.
  • Evidence of taking ownership beyond pure task execution, for example improving a template, building a tracker, owning an intake process, or running a small piece of legal operations work end to end.

Desirable

  • Hands on exposure to CLM systems and broader legal tech, comfortable standardising workflows, building templates and playbooks, and an interest in enabling AI assisted contracting at scale.
  • Exposure to SaaS, technology, or AI enabled products.
  • Experience supporting enterprise deals, including negotiating customer and third party paper and coordinating security, privacy and procurement requirements.
  • Experience operating in a global environment, including regional stakeholders, time zones and local legislation.
  • Exposure to contracting in MENA and/or supporting expansion into the GCC and KSA, or a strong interest in building this capability.
  • Familiarity with data protection concepts such as DPAs and cross border considerations.
  • Experience improving templates, processes, governance, or ways of working across multiple teams.

Why join

This is a stretch role designed for an ambitious paralegal who wants to qualify in house, build a legal operations capability from the ground up, and grow with the function as Board Intelligence scales, and you'll get to:

  • Work at the intersection of legal, commercial and technology on a global scale.

  • Real scope to grow into a senior, high impact role shaping how Board Intelligence scales worldwide.
