Our Mission We unleash the potential of organisations through the science of board effectiveness, building better businesses and benefiting society.
The Role We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to help evolve and modernise Board Intelligence’s iOS application, delivering high impact features that directly support senior leaders and board level users. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building polished, intuitive mobile experiences end to end, from API integration through to refined SwiftUI interfaces. You will play a key role in modularising our iOS codebase, improving architecture, and raising the overall quality, performance and security of the application. You will work closely with Engineering, Product and Design to shape the roadmap, ensuring that new features are secure, scalable and aligned to the high standards expected in a governance and regulated environment. This is an opportunity to build software used by executive audiences, where usability, reliability and data sensitivity are critical.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop new features end-to-end; fetching data from APIs and presenting it in polished, intuitive UI using SwiftUI
- Support the modularisation of the iOS application, breaking it into well-defined, reusable modules
- Improve the overall look, feel, and usability of the application
- Integrate with our proprietary authentication system and ensure robust, secure auth flows
- Champion security best practices across the application, in line with the high standards required by our industry
- Maintain and improve existing application functionality
- Collaborate with the wider engineering team, product, and design to shape the roadmap
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards
- Support testing, debugging, and performance optimisation
Who are we looking for? We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer who combines strong technical foundations with product awareness and a security conscious mindset. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys ownership, values engineering quality, and wants to build mobile software that matters in a board level context. We are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience in iOS development at mid to senior level
- Deep, demonstrable experience with Swift and SwiftUI
- Solid understanding and practical application of MVVM architecture in production applications
- Experience modularising iOS codebases or breaking down monolithic applications into well-structured, reusable modules
- Proven experience building applications that consume REST APIs and present data in polished, intuitive interfaces
- Strong understanding of authentication and security principles, with experience integrating secure authentication flows
- A security first mindset, comfortable working in an environment where data sensitivity and industry standards are paramount
Nice to have:
- Experience working with Objective C, particularly in legacy or hybrid codebases
- Experience within governance, financial services, or other regulated industries
- Experience building applications used by senior or executive audiences
You will be a great fit if:
- You are a thoughtful problem solver: We operate in a fast moving environment where priorities evolve and technical challenges require sound judgement. You bring strong architectural thinking, write clean and maintainable code, and are comfortable navigating ambiguity while maintaining high standards.
- You are product minded: You care about building the right features, not just implementing requirements. You enjoy collaborating with Product and Design, refining user journeys, and delivering intuitive experiences for senior stakeholders who expect clarity and simplicity.
- You take ownership end to end: You are comfortable delivering features from initial design and API integration through to production ready SwiftUI interfaces. You take responsibility for outcomes, balancing performance, security, usability and maintainability.
- You raise the bar for iOS engineering: You care deeply about architecture, modularisation, and clean code. You participate actively in code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and leave systems more robust and maintainable than you found them.
- You are security conscious by default: You understand authentication flows, data protection principles, and secure coding practices. You champion best practice and are comfortable working in a high trust, high responsibility environment.
- You are a collaborative teammate: We work closely across Engineering, Product and Design. You share knowledge, support others, and contribute to a culture of high performance and mutual respect.
Benefits
- Private Pension Scheme
- BUPA Health and Dental insurance (including access to the My BUPA app)
- Group life assurance: 4x annual salary
- 26 holiday days per calendar year in addition to Bank Holidays
- Cycle to work scheme
- Employee Assistance Program including Bereavement and Probate Helpline
