Responsibilities
- Manage a Financial Reporting team responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements for investment funds on behalf of assigned clients and funds.
- Manage the performance of assigned staff and set team priorities.
- Ensure financial statements meet relevant accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, Lux GAAP, etc.) and regulatory standards.
- Review changes in accounting and disclosure standards to direct necessary process changes.
- Plan, organise and monitor production of financial statements for funds on behalf of BNY.
- Maintain and provide regular management information on team deliverables.
- Review and sign‑off draft reports, accounts files and other associated calculations and information.
- Ensure effective liaison with external and internal parties relevant to team deliverables.
- Participate and contribute to development of Financial Reporting structures, processes and controls.
- Represent the department on ad‑hoc projects.
- Present fund reports to the Board of Directors to ensure good governance.
- Recruit, direct, motivate and develop staff, maximizing growth and teamwork.
- Provide cover for the Group Manager and support other Financial Reporting teams when required.
Qualifications
- Significant experience (10+ years) managing small/medium teams of professional staff, preferably within a fund administrator or Big 4 firm with fund investment exposure.
- Strong accounting knowledge covering IFRS, US GAAP, Lux GAAP and investment fund structures (mutual funds, hedge funds, etc.).
- Experience with financial reporting platforms, including Confluence Unity and/or DFIN Arc Reporting.
- Deadline‑driven with effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Professional accounting qualification advantageous, preferably ACA / ACCA / CIMA.
