We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President – Operations SME/ Business Technology Liaison to join our Fund and Investor Solutions team. This role is located in Manchester.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Business–Technology Liaison
- Serve as the primary interface between Operations and Engineering teams
- Translate complex operational processes into clear business and system requirements
- Ensure alignment between product design and real-world operational workflows
- Reference Data & Security Setup Ownership
- Own security master and static data setup across asset classes (fixed income, equities, derivatives, structured products, private placements)
- Define and standardize critical attributes including coupon terms, PIK features, identifiers, pricing conventions, and lifecycle events
- Drive consistency across systems, ensuring clean data flow into downstream processes (NAV, trading, reporting)
- Product & Pod Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product Owners to shape backlog, prioritize use cases, and define acceptance criteria
- Provide deep SME input into design decisions, validation rules, and exception handling logic
- Work within agile pod structures to deliver incremental, high-impact enhancements
- Automation and Scalable Solutioning
- Identify and drive opportunities to convert manual security setup into automated workflows (AI extraction, rules engines, Digital Employees)
- Drive end-to-end solutioning—from problem definition to design, build, and deployment
- Focus on improving STP rates, reducing exceptions, and accelerating onboarding timelines
- Ownership & Governance
- Take independent ownership of deliverables and outcomes
- Ensure solutions are embedded effectively within BAU processes
- Monitor performance post-implementation and drive continuous improvements
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in Reference Data, Security Setup, or Static Data management
- Strong expertise in security master data and complex instrument structures (fixed income, convertibles, structured notes, private placements)
- Experience in Instruction Capture, onboarding, or data intake processes
- Proven ability to translate business workflows into system logic, data models, and validation rules
- Strong understanding of downstream impacts (NAV, accruals, trading, reporting)
- Experience working within product-led or platform operating models
- Exposure to automation / AI-led solutions is a plus
- Ability to operate independently and influence without direct authority
