We are partnering with BNY Pershing to hire a Senior Vice President – Mutual Funds, a senior leadership role within the Pershing EMEA platform. This is a high-impact leadership position with full accountability for a critical mutual funds operations function within a sophisticated wealth services and custody environment. The role combines strategic ownership, operational leadership, and transformation delivery, with a strong emphasis on people leadership, governance, and client outcomes.
As Senior Vice President – Mutual Funds, you will lead a large, multi-layered operational function, including managing managers and high-performing teams, within a complex, high-volume environment. You will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery, control, and continuous evolution of mutual fund operations, covering:
- Share Class Conversions
This role requires a balanced leader who can operate at both strategic and hands-on levels, driving operational excellence while shaping the future direction of the function.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & People Management
- Provide strategic leadership across a multi-layered organisation, including managing managers and developing future leaders
- Build, lead, and scale high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence
- Drive performance management, coaching, succession planning, and talent development across the function
- Operational Ownership & Delivery
- Own the end-to-end mutual funds operations function, ensuring timely, accurate, and scalable delivery
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex operational, client, and risk issues
- Ensure operational activities are delivered in line with service standards, SLAs, and client expectations
- Own and enhance operational risk and control frameworks, ensuring full regulatory compliance
- Maintain strong oversight of KRIs, KPIs, and control metrics, driving proactive risk management
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, client asset controls (CASS awareness), Records Management, and Business Continuity frameworks
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a senior point of contact for key clients and internal stakeholders, supporting client retention and service excellence
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Product
- Provide insight, reporting, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership to influence decision-making
- Lead large-scale transformation, automation, and process optimisation initiatives
- Drive adoption of digital tools, data-led decision making, and AI-enabled solutions
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness
- Extensive Financial Services Operations experience, with strong exposure to Mutual Funds, Asset Servicing, Custody, or Wealth Operations
- Proven senior leadership experience, including managing multi-layered teams and people leaders (managers)
- Demonstrated track record of owning operational functions at scale within complex environments
- Strong experience in operational risk, governance, and control frameworks
- Experience leading transformation, automation, and strategic change initiatives
- Strong client focus, with experience managing senior stakeholder relationships
- Advanced capability in MI reporting, KPIs/KRIs, and data-driven performance management
- Strong systems and analytical skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of client asset regulations (e.g. CASS) is highly advantageous
