An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vice President – Mutual Funds / Fund Services to join BNY Pershing's Funds & Custody Operations function. This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for overseeing Mutual Fund Operations across dealing, settlements, onboarding, and operational servicing activities. You will play a key role in leading high-performing teams, strengthening operational controls, driving service excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of critical investment servicing activities within a highly regulated financial environment.
The role sits within BNY Pershing's Funds & Custody Operations team, supporting wealth managers, financial advisers, broker-dealers, and institutional clients across the EMEA region. The function provides market-leading custody, fund dealing, settlement, and asset servicing solutions, ensuring the accurate processing, administration, and safeguarding of client assets and investment products.
We're looking for an experienced operational leader with a strong background in Mutual Funds, Fund Services, Custody, Asset Servicing, or Investment Operations who can combine strategic leadership with operational oversight. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Operations, Technology, Compliance, Financial Crime, and Client Management, while managing teams responsible for delivering accurate, efficient, and controlled investment processes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing governance and controls, supporting transformation initiatives, and building strong relationships across the wider business. This role offers the opportunity to influence the direction of a key operational function while developing people, improving processes, and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading Mutual Fund Operations across dealing, settlements and operational servicing activities
- Managing teams responsible for fund dealing, trade processing, settlements and share class conversions
- Overseeing fund onboarding, account opening and operational support for fund managers and transfer agents
- Ensuring accurate execution of fund orders and settlement activity across multiple markets
- Acting as senior escalation point for operational issues, client queries and fund-related investigations
- Driving operational control, governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across the function
- Producing and reviewing operational MI, KPIs, KRIs and performance reporting
- Leading reconciliations, exception management and operational oversight activities
- Partnering with Financial Crime, Compliance, Technology and Change teams on strategic initiatives
- Supporting automation, process optimisation and continuous improvement programmes
- Developing, coaching and mentoring managers and operational teams
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fund managers, custodians and institutional clients
What We're Looking For
- Strong leadership experience within Mutual Funds, Asset Management Operations, Custody or Fund Services
- Excellent knowledge of mutual fund dealing, settlements and investment operations
- Experience managing operational teams within regulated financial services
- Knowledge of fund structures, dealing cycles and settlement processes
- Strong operational risk and control awareness
- Experience producing and reviewing MI, KPIs and operational reporting
- Proven stakeholder management skills across Operations, Technology, Compliance and Client teams
