We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, POM Technical Product Management to join our Reconciliation Services team. This role is located in Manchester.
About the Role
BNY is modernizing Reconciliations—shifting from manual processing to data‑led, AI‑assisted, agile delivery with embedded data intelligence. We are seeking a Senior Vice President to serve as a high‑impact, sole contributor in our Platform Strategy team. This SVP will be a key platform role—shaping the 3‑year plan, delivering complex insights and analysis, accelerating AI‑enabled transformation, and deputizing for the EPO where appropriate.
Mission
Drive end‑to‑end platform thinking across Product, Engineering, and Operations. Deliver transformative automation, insights, and process improvements using agentic AI solutions that enhance controls, efficiency, and client outcomes. Build scalability and first‑class client experience into reconciliations workflows.
Impact You Will Own
- Own and co‑author the 3‑year platform plan: target state, strategic intents, OKRs, and value realization roadmap.
- Convert complexity into clarity: produce executive‑ready analyses, narratives, and recommendations that guide investment and prioritization.
- Embed data intelligence and agentic AI into operating workflows to improve match rates, reduce exceptions, and elevate control quality.
- Strengthen governance and execution discipline: establish performance cadences, KPI frameworks, risk/issue logs, and dependency maps.
- Deputize for the EPO in key forums, reviews, and stakeholder engagements to maintain momentum and alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Target State: Help the platform team set the north‑star vision for reconciliations (process, data, controls, user journeys) and translate into executable roadmaps. Drive AI adoption across the Platform. Align the strategy across technology, operations, risk, and finance; articulate outcomes, milestones, and measurable benefits.
- Insights and Decision Support: Lead complex quantitative/qualitative analyses: throughput/capacity modelling, unit economics, SLA/defect metrics, productivity, and client impacts. Stand up KPI frameworks, dashboards, and narrative packs; track benefits realization versus plan and highlight trade‑offs.
- AI‑Enabled Transformation and Engineering Partnership: Identify and validate AI/ML opportunities (e.g., anomaly detection, match optimization, exception triage); design‑controlled pilots and scale proven solutions. Partner with engineering to prioritize capabilities, ensure backlog quality, and define non‑functional requirements (resilience, controls, scalability). Align data strategy (sources, lineage, quality, governance) to enable analytics and model deployment.
- Operating Model, Governance, and Controls: Run execution cadence (quarterly strategy reviews, monthly performance packs) and maintain decision/risk/issue registers. Coordinate with control partners to ensure readiness across process, data, and change controls; adhere to model risk and operational risk practices.
- Stakeholder Leadership and Communication: Collaborate across firm‑wide stakeholders (Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance, Client teams) to unblock decisions and drive outcomes. Communicate crisply to senior audiences; make clear recommendations with action plans and measurable success criteria.
Skills
- Anticipate needs and improve experience through swift issue resolution.
- Challenge the status quo; turn insights into experiments and improvements.
- End‑to‑end accountability for data quality, rules, and exception outcomes—issues surface because controls worked.
- Continuously explore AI and analytics to enhance reconciliations; test, learn, and iterate.
- Collaborate across stakeholders and share knowledge; build trust and momentum.
- Apply agentic AI/ML where feasible; design for scale and controlled adoption.
- Measure outcomes, simplify processes, and scale solutions.
- Reconciliations/post‑trade experience preferred.
- Proven track record delivering complex analyses and executive‑ready insights; expert at structuring problems and data‑driven decisions.
- Hands‑on partnership with engineering on platform roadmaps and agile delivery; strong grasp of backlog management and NFRs.
- Practical exposure to AI/ML in operations or risk; able to translate business problems into testable hypotheses and measurable pilots.
- Strong financial acumen (business cases, benefit tracking) and operational metrics (SLA, throughput, quality, controls).
- Exceptional written/verbal communication, executive presence, and cross‑functional stakeholder management.
- Thrives as a high‑impact sole contributor; proactive, accountable, and comfortable deputizing senior leadership.
Preferred
- Custody operations, reconciliations, exceptions management, or middle‑office experience.
- Data fluency (SQL/BI/Prompt Engineering), KPI/dashboard design, data quality frameworks, and measurement discipline.
- Familiarity with control environments and change practices relevant to AI‑enabled operations.
Location and Ways of Working
Manchester‑based; collaborates closely with the Head of Operations, Product and Engineering leadership. Operates with transparent execution cadence (OKRs, reviews, dashboards, risk logs) aligned to BNY’s Strategic Pillars: Be More for our Clients, Run our Company Better, Power our Culture.
