We’re seeking a Senior Director, Operational Risk Coverage Platform Lead to join our Operational Risk Team in London, England (4-5 days/week in office).
This second line of defense role will lead a team overseeing several of the firm’s platforms. The employee will collaborate closely with the global operational risk team and other platform leads to ensure consistency in managing and enhancing our operational risk management capabilities. The team works across all lines of defense to independently oversee BNY’s operational risk profile and control environment. The ideal candidate is an experienced risk manager, relationship-oriented, and a proactive change agent.
In this role, you’ll:
- Drive informed risk management decisions by providing insights into the firm’s operational risk profile.
- Collaborate with first line colleagues to identify risk areas, concerns, and trends.
- Improve the team’s ability to monitor operational risks using data analytics and tools, including risk programs and incident data.
- Ensure consistent and effective risk challenge and oversight practices across the team.
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Extensive experience in a global financial or professional services firm.
- Operational risk experience (first or second line of defense).
- Global risk management experience.
- Experience managing a global team and multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical and data skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field (industry qualifications are a plus).
