SENIOR ASSOCIATE, BUSINESS/SYSTEMS ANALYST

We\’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate – Business/Systems Analyst to join our EMEA Finance Regulatory Reporting Change & Support team. This role is located in Manchester, UK and will be working on a hybrid basis.

In this role, you\’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead or support analysis of regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel IV, CRR3, IRRBB) and assess impacts on reporting processes and systems.
  • Translate regulatory or internal business requirements into actionable system and process changes.
  • Contribute to the delivery of both strategic projects and continuous change initiatives (e.g., DPM 4.0, Resolution Automation).
  • Prepare and review Design Authority submissions and attend governance forums.
  • Understand the architecture and configuration of Axiom and associated data flows.
  • Perform root cause analysis on reporting issues and propose sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Internal Controls, Audit, and Technology teams.
  • Engage with business units introducing new products (e.g., CLOs, Repos, Derivatives) to assess reporting implications.
  • Define test plans and support execution in collaboration with Test Managers.
  • Validate data outputs and ensure system changes meet regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to \”hypercare\” phases post-implementation to stabilize solutions.
  • Maintain Jira artefacts (tickets, epics, Kanban boards) and contribute to retrospectives.
  • Participate in Working Groups, Daily Standups, and Resource Prioritisation forums.
  • Follow the team\’s project lifecycle methodology (stage gate and continuous change models).

To be successful in this role, we\’re seeking the following:

  • Experience in business/systems analysis, preferably within finance or regulatory reporting domains.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations across EMEA (e.g., PRA, EBA, ECB).
  • Familiarity with reporting platforms (ideally AxiomSL/Adenza) and data transformation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to break down complex requirements and explain them clearly.
  • Track record of working in cross-functional, agile teams with strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Competent in Jira, Excel, and project lifecycle frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid models).

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working on regulatory projects such as Basel IV, MREL/TLAC, ESG reporting.
  • Understanding of data modelling, SQL, or regulatory reporting templates.
  • Proven ability to adapt to a dynamic regulatory landscape.
  • Curious mindset with continuous improvement ethos.
  • Prior exposure to large financial institutions or regulatory bodies.
