We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Full‑Stack Engineer to join our Trustee & Depositary (T&D) Engineering organization. This role is located in Manchester.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain end‑to‑end full‑stack applications using modern technologies, frameworks, and engineering best practices across the full software development lifecycle.
- Actively contribute as a POD team member, collaborating closely with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes using agile ways of working.
- Apply an AI‑first engineering mindset by leveraging automation and AI‑assisted development tools to improve code quality, testing, documentation, and delivery speed.
- Leverage AI/ML capabilities within full‑stack applications, including integration of machine learning models, APIs, and AI‑driven services to enhance user experience, automation, and decision‑making.
- Promote high standards of software quality, security, and maintainability through code reviews, test automation, proactive technical‑debt management, and continuous improvement.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements for existing platforms, participating in deployment and release activities in line with established change controls.
- Design and implement AI‑enabled backend services using Java‑based ecosystems (e.g., Spring Boot) and integrate with AI/ML frameworks, LLM APIs, or internal AI platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong experience with modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, and Angular (or similar frameworks), as well as familiarity with application frameworks and containerization technologies.
- Solid understanding of agile software development, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software design; experience in financial services or securities processing is a plus.
- Practical experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications, such as working with REST‑based AI services, large language model (LLM) APIs, or deploying lightweight ML models into production systems.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools, such as prompt engineering, model evaluation, embeddings, vector databases, or orchestration frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to shared engineering standards and best practices.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills, with a proactive mindset focused on ownership, quality, and continuous learning.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments.
