We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Control Manager to join our Wealth Services Platform, within the BNY Pershing team. This role is located in Manchester.
Responsibilities- Perform in depth control testing to ensure process accuracy and compliance from both a design and operating effectiveness perspective.
- Develop and maintain effective control testing frameworks by collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify best practices.
- Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency by leveraging technology and process optimization strategies.
- Provide expert guidance on control issues by demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the financial industry standards and regulations.
- Assist with the design and delivery of risk management training programs to ensure that control procedures are understood and followed.
- Contribute to the development of control and compliance initiatives to evolve the controls framework, risk management approaches and operational efficiency.
- Liaise with business units to assess the control framework within new or potential projects.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Extensive experience in financial services preferred.
- An understanding of the industry from a regulatory and operational perspective; Knowledge of Financial Services Industry regulations, compliance, operations, auditing, and KYC.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple exams/projects simultaneously.
- Ability to supervise small teams and projects, provide technical advice and guidance to less experienced or entry-level team members, and counsel operations personnel on compliance with policies and procedures.
- An understanding of technical/functional knowledge as required for the role; Direct experience or a good understanding of Compliance and Operational Risk requirements; Management skills.
