We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President to join our Tax Client Custody Operations team. This role is located in Manchester, UK.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for client tax inquiries, delivering timely, accurate guidance and setting clear expectations.
  • Act as your clients’ custody tax primary liaison on withholding-tax rules and processes across key markets, translating market-specific requirements into practical steps.
  • Proactively review portfolios, tax entitlements, and documentation to surface opportunities, flag risks, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Guide clients through completion and submission of tax forms, using digital tools to track progress and streamline follow-ups.
  • Analyze reclaim activity, produce concise status and trend reports, and keep clients informed on outstanding items and recovery timelines.
  • Lead client calls to align on documentation status, market changes, and bespoke tax matters—ensuring transparency and agreement on next steps.
  • Monitor service performance and client feedback; partner with peers and leadership to design targeted improvements and implement measurable enhancements.
  • Maintain and enhance playbooks, processes, and training materials—driving standardization, quality, and efficiency across teams and markets.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to interpret market developments and tax legislation changes, translating them into updates to internal controls and workflows.
  • Champion continuous learning and our “Working Together” culture—sharing expertise, mentoring colleagues, and promoting best practices.
  • Leverage emerging digital tools and AI-enabled workflows to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability, staying ahead of fast-paced internal and external technological change.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Tax, or related field; equivalent practical experience considered. Professional tax qualifications (e. g., CTA/ATT) are a plus.
  • 5–7 years of experience in financial services operations or tax reporting, with direct client interaction preferred (custody, asset servicing, or securities operations experience advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of global withholding‑tax frameworks, the custody chain, and end‑to‑end operational lifecycles, including documentation, relief‑at‑source, and reclaim processes.
  • Excellent communicator able to translate technical tax concepts into clear, client‑ready narratives and actionable guidance.
  • Highly organized with proven ability to prioritize by urgency, complexity, and risk; comfortable managing multiple portfolios and deadlines.
  • Proficient with digital tools and data‑driven workflows (e. g. Excel/analytics, case management platforms); familiarity with AI‑enabled tooling and automation is beneficial.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience refining processes, controls, and playbooks to enhance quality and efficiency

Fluent in English; additional language proficiency (e. g., German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, French) is advantageous.
