We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Cash Management Manager to join our Liquidity Operations team. This role is located in Manchester, UK.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Oversee Liquidity Operations: Lead the daily management of the bank's cash and liquidity positions across currencies and entities, ensuring sufficient intraday and end-of-day liquidity to meet payment obligations, settlement activity, and regulatory buffers. Drive operational excellence, risk control, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with Treasury, Markets, Payments, and Technology.
- Intraday Liquidity Management: Monitor real-time cash positions across RTGS systems and correspondent accounts; allocate funding efficiently to meet time-critical payments, CLS settlement, and market cut-offs.
- End-of-Day Liquidity & Forecasting: Oversee end-of-day funding, buffer maintenance, and liquidity forecasting; validate drivers of cash flows (clearing, custody, FX, corporate actions) against projections.
- Payment & Settlement Operations: Manage high-value payments, reconciliations, and exception handling; address settlement fails and liquidity gridlocks across SWIFT/RTGS networks.
- Incident Management: Lead triage for liquidity-impacting incidents (e.g., RTGS outages, correspondent delays); run playbooks, communicate status, and drive post-incident reviews.
- Data & Analytics: Monitor and improve the health of the Cash Management team using KPIs, track intraday flows, throughput, and bottlenecks; deliver MI packs and insights to senior stakeholders.
- Drive AI adoption: Identify high-impact use cases (e.g., intraday cash forecasting, anomaly detection on payment flows, exception triage), drive the creation of digital agents, partner with Technology to pilot models, embed them into workflows, measure outcomes (throughput, STP rate, break reduction, time-to-release), and scale responsibly in alignment with enterprise AI governance and risk controls.
- Change & Optimization: Sponsor automation, straight-through processing, and process reengineering; collaborate with Technology and Operations for platform upgrades and resiliency.
- Stakeholder Management: Partner with Front Office, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and external counterparts (central banks, correspondents, market infrastructures); provide timely updates and decisions.
- Governance & Documentation: Maintain SOPs, control inventories, desk procedures, training materials; support audits and regulatory exams.
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and adherence to BNY's principles.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to align cash management strategies with BNY's organizational objectives and strategic pillars.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Expertise in transaction processing and cash management.
