We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Accountant to join our Finance Professional Services Centre team. This role is located in Manchester, UK.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Reporting – Delivery of high-quality FINREP returns for the European Bank, including delivery within prescribed regulatory deadlines. Ensure that presentation of the income statement and balance sheet aligns with regulatory requirements and IFRS.
- Stakeholder management – Develop close relationships with European Bank Market Centre report owner and other business areas particularly Regulatory Change and Controllers. Be a main contact to receive feedback, take ownership of necessary improvements, and be accountable for the successful execution of the production plan.
- Oversight & Controls – Ensure all reports are produced in a strong operational control environment with well-evidenced reviews, checklists, variance analysis, reconciliations and procedures. Reporting analytics and MI in a timely fashion, ensuring that you meet reporting deadlines and quality expectations. Identify and eliminate control gaps, consistently evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
- Knowledge – Stay abreast of legislative, accounting and regulatory developments, as well as knowledge of external reporting requirements and procedures. A background in IFRS will be particularly useful in this role.
- Assurance – Involvement with internal and external assurance activities, provide deliverable requests, walkthroughs and respond to queries within a timely manner.
- Change – Assist with the provision of regulatory support for relevant projects including new regulatory reporting production requirements and regulatory system improvements, new business and product launches. Perform other functions as required from time-to-time.
- Other – Ensure the operational processes are optimised to drive efficient, effective and risk managed outputs.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Qualified Accountant with ACCA/ACA/CPA Accreditation or equivalent.
- Regulatory Reporting experience desirable, including regulatory and accounting systems and processes.
- Organized and structured working methodology, attention to detail and highly motivated individual with an analytical inquisitive / challenging mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including communication, planning and escalation.
- Experience of a fast moving, deadline driven, highly controlled, multi-national / functional organization.
