The Markets Control team is a dynamic team working to support the BNY Markets execution business in FX, Fixed Income and Equities, Liquidity and Margin Services and Securities Finance. This role is located in London.
The successful candidate will be able to operate with minimal oversight and will help enhance accountability and reinforce the control capabilities of BNY Markets. This will be achieved through the development of mitigating controls to strengthen the Markets Control Supervision framework. Examples of control that strengthen the supervisory framework include Cancel & Amends, Trader Mandate exception alerting, out-of-hours and off-premises trading checks.
The successful candidate will be able to understand and assist with interpreting trade and booking workflows and apply that knowledge to the development of associated controls. The candidate will help to promote a strong regulatory mindset across the Markets business through a thorough knowledge and understanding of both global regulation (FINRA/MiFID/MAR) and financial markets.
The candidate will be able to provide regulatory input into market abuse surveillance activities, dealing with enquiries from second line Compliance surveillance colleagues, assisting with compilation of the market abuse risk assessment and where required, assisting with market abuse parameter reviews.
The candidate will also have a solid understanding of pricing dynamics in global markets and be responsible for helping oversee pricing check controls for FX, Equities and Fixed Income trading, operated by the first line Controls team through proprietary tools. The candidate will be able to identify and escalate to the business instances where clients may not have received best execution and manage associated governance meetings, where best execution is reviewed.
Where proprietary tools need to be developed or further enhanced, the candidate will be able to deal with model risk partners and manage the product development lifecycle working with development teams.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Significant experience in FX trading, ideally across G10 and/or EM currencies.
- Deep knowledge of FX products including spot, forwards, swaps, NDFs and options.
