The Solution Design Team

The Solution Design team sits within Insight Investment and provides investment strategy and solutions expertise.

The team works closely with Insight Investment's portfolio management teams, as well as Distribution colleagues across BNY Investments, to develop solutions for institutional clients.

The team has deep experience across Insight Investment's core capabilities, including liability-driven investment, risk management, full-spectrum fixed income and currency strategies, while increasingly drawing on investment capabilities from across the wider BNY Investments platform to meet evolving client needs.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced investment professional to join our Solution Design team in London at Vice President level, focussing in pooled fund clients and solutions.

You will design and evolve investment solutions for existing and prospective institutional clients, working closely with investment teams, Distribution colleagues, clients and consultants.

The role combines investment strategy, portfolio analysis and client engagement.

You will take ownership of solution design, contribute to the development of new investment propositions and represent the team in client, consultant and new business discussions.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways

  • Design investment solutions for institutional clients, translating investment objectives, liabilities, constraints and risk considerations into practical portfolio strategies.
  • Work directly with Distribution colleagues, clients and consultants to understand investment requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Lead and contribute to client and consultant meetings and new business pitches, owning investment analysis, recommendations and presentations.
  • Analyse client portfolios and risk exposures, including portfolio analysis and asset-liability modelling, working with quantitative specialists where appropriate.
  • Partner with portfolio managers and investment specialists to develop, implement and evolve pooled client strategies, including portfolio changes and transitions.
  • Contribute to the development of new investment solutions and the evolution of existing propositions.
  • Provide investment and technical expertise to support existing client relationships and new business opportunities.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following

  • Experience in investment strategy, investment consulting, solution design, portfolio management or a related institutional investment role.
  • Strong understanding of institutional investors, ideally including UK defined-benefit pension schemes, and their investment objectives and challenges.
  • Knowledge of areas such as liability-driven investment, fixed income, risk management and portfolio construction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial modelling and portfolio analysis. Asset-liability modelling experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience working with institutional clients and/or investment consultants, with the ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to contribute to senior client and consultant discussions.
  • CFA, actuarial or another relevant professional qualification would be advantageous.
