We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Lead API Product Manager - Vice President to join our Treasury Services Product Management team. This role is located in London and is Hybrid. As a Lead API Product Manager, you will play a critical role in defining, developing, and managing the lifecycle of our API products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, sales, and customer support, to ensure our APIs meet market demands and drive business growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience in API product management, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling product strategies. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Manage the entire API product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization ensuring services are scalable, secure, and easy to use.
- Collaborate closely with the API engineering team on key elements of API design and principles such as intuitive naming, consistent patterns, versioning, etc.
- Prioritize API features and enhancements based on customer feedback, usage data, and business impact.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to define business/technical requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Engage with customers, directly or indirectly, to understand their needs, pain points, and how they use APIs.
- Utilize metrics to measure the success of API products and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct A/B testing, user research, and data analysis to validate product hypotheses and iterate on features.
- Ensure comprehensive and clear documentation for internal teams and external API users.
- Communicate product changes, updates, and best practices to customers and stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Experience in product management, with a recent focus on APIs or developer-focused products.
- Experience in banking/finance, industry standards, and payments domain.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing API products.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform product decisions.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SDKs, modern architecture patterns, and related technologies.
- Experience working with developer communities and third-party developers.
- Knowledge of API best practices and compliance standards.
