The Role: The Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO) role is responsible for developing, implementing and steering the data strategy for PF UK in alignment with the Group Data Strategy. They ensure deployment of applicable data management frameworks, covering the whole lifecycle of data. The CDAO role will also be responsible for creating, leading and enhancing the analytical capacity and delivery within PFUK. The CDAO will be in close collaboration with the business to align the data strategy with business ambitions and make data actionable to drive AI and analytics. They steer and frame the data quality management strategy and related frameworks within PF UK, promoting a ‘Know Your Data’ (KYD) culture to ensure that all data relevant decisions are taken in full awareness of their impacts, as well as to act as a point of accountability for the Data Protection controls and processes are in place across our business. The CDAO fosters a data-driven culture in the organisation through community building, training and communication.
Key Responsibilities: The main missions of the CDAO is to:
- Set the strategic vision and direction on data management and analytics / data science strategy for PFUK
- Own data management governance; including data quality
- To be part of the 1st Line of Defence for Data Protection
- Drive delivery of Data Quality changes and other associated initiatives across the business
- Promote and drive the delivery of data-specific strategies, including those focussed on quality, data lineage, data efficiency and data architecture
- Utilising a strong data strategy lead the PFUK data analytics team to drive actionable insight across PFUK.
- Foster data usage, including through deployment of AI use cases
As part of this role, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a transversal view on each critical data element along its data lifecycle and overseeing the management of the data flow/control documentation and lineages
- Acting as an advisor to PF UK on data-related matters, by driving the data strategy, promoting harmonisation and alignment of systems and process, alongside sharing data issues related to compliance with the local Compliance Office
- Building analytics strategy for PF UK to enable use of data strategy, introducing new concepts and techniques
- Keep ahead of new industry techniques and data sources that can enrich and improve our decision making capabilities
- Engage at Executive level to proactively seek out new opportunities to support the business through data and analytics
Skills & Attributes:
- Substantial experience of working within a data role within a large organisation, with significant knowledge and experience in Data Quality and Privacy
- Track record of managing data & analytics team, work flows and a broad knowledge of Data Structure, formats, systems and tools
- Credit Risk & Financial modelling, forecasting, provisioning, as well as core business MI production and interpretation
- A good understanding of information security controls and principles that ensure confidentiality, quality, integrity, availability of sensitive information
- Any experience of previously implementing/complying with BCBS239 would be beneficial.
