Business Unit & Team: BNPP AM – Real Estate, within the Central Services Team (CST)

Reporting to: Global Head of Fund Accounting and Central Services

Location: London

Job Purpose

The critical central role involves managing and overseeing the global property insurance programme for BNPP AM – Real Estate and ensuring the real estate business has adequate corporate and Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the global property insurance programme for BNPP AM – Real Estate's investment platform (Property Damages, Loss of Rent, Terrorism, Property Owner Liability) including:
    • Reviewing and advising on the adequacy and completeness of cover offered by insurers
    • Arranging and managing the global broker relationship to ensure adequate service and appropriate broker terms
    • Efficient programme management including insurance policies, invoicing, and claims management
    • Managing any property additions/disposals and advising on refinancings as relevant
    • Arranging construction/refurbishment insurance as necessary
    • Provide advice to the business teams on warranties & indemnities (W&I) insurance associated with transactions
    • Collaborate with the BNP Paribas Group Insurance team to oversee the corporate insurance programme for BNPP AM – Real Estate, ensuring adequate Professional Indemnity and D&O policies
    • Select and manage key global insurance brokers, ensuring a close working relationship, clear processes and performance measurement in line with agreed SLAs
    • Advise the real estate business (Transactions, Asset Management, Legal teams) on insurance related matters and insurance clauses in specific contracts
    • Advise business teams responsible for properties not currently in the Global Insurance Programme on procuring and managing appropriate insurance
    • Document and publish processes for managing both property and corporate insurance programmes, including invoicing, billing, claims, acquisitions and sales
    • Manage the Insurance Officer role in the Central Services Team
    • Communicate effectively on insurance topics to the Real Estate business Management Board and provide an aggregated view at company level
    • Handle all other topics related to insurance as required

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Education / Qualifications

  • University degree from a recognised institution

Relevant insurance market accreditation

Required Experience

  • Significant demonstrated experience in insurance in a real estate context, ideally in a global setting
  • Experience with real estate investment management companies or Real Estate Private Equity companies is desirable
  • Experience managing staff and working in teams, with strong leadership and development skills
  • Experience managing global insurance programmes

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent knowledge across the requisite insurance lines (property, terrorism, PI, D&O, W&I, construction insurance) in a global context
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Ability to work within large global organisations
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer and service delivery orientated
  • Rigorous, self‐motivated, organised and autonomous
  • English language (written and verbal) essential; French language advantageous
