About The Role: As Future Business Operations Lead, you will play a pivotal role in enabling disciplined, data-driven business development across BMT UK & Europe. Working within the Future Business team, you will be responsible for ensuring a robust and trusted pipeline of opportunities, providing the governance, reporting and operational support that underpins sustainable growth and informed decision-making.
This role focuses on maintaining a single regional view of pipeline performance, opportunity progression and forecast accuracy, ensuring opportunities are consistently qualified, governed and tracked throughout the business development lifecycle. You will coordinate pipeline reviews, forecasting activities, capture governance and performance reporting, transforming sales and market data into actionable insight for regional leadership.
Working closely with Business Development Managers, Programme teams, Capability leads, Commercial, Finance and Bidding colleagues, you will help create a joined-up approach to opportunity management and growth planning. You will also champion CRM standards, data quality and reporting excellence, ensuring the business has confidence in the information used to make strategic decisions.
Alongside pipeline governance, you will support sales enablement, campaign tracking, internal communications and knowledge management across the Future Business function. About You: You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with experience supporting business operations, business development, sales, commercial or bid activities within a fast-paced environment. You thrive on bringing structure, consistency and insight to complex processes, ensuring teams have the information, tools and governance needed to make informed decisions and drive growth.
You will have experience coordinating pipelines, forecasts, reporting or customer-related data, with a strong appreciation for the importance of accuracy, data quality and operational discipline. Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, you can effectively track actions, manage competing priorities and support regular review and reporting activities while maintaining attention to detail.
A confident communicator, you build positive working relationships across a range of functions and can work collaboratively with business development, marketing, bidding, commercial and programme teams. You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, using data and reporting to create clear, decision-ready insights and presentations.
Ideally, you will have experience working with CRM systems, SharePoint and sales or business development operations processes, including pipeline governance, forecasting and performance reporting. Experience within defence, engineering, professional services, infrastructure or other complex B2B environments would be advantageous.
Most importantly, you are proactive, analytical and resilient, with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for helping teams operate effectively. You enjoy turning data into meaningful insight, improving ways of working and enabling business growth through strong governance, collaboration and operational excellence.
