Part Time – Safety Engineering Consultant
Job Title: Safety Engineering Consultant
Contract Type: Permanent
Flexibility: This role is available part-time, job-share, or full-time. We want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.
Location: UK – Weymouth. We have offices in Bath, Bristol, Fareham, Glasgow, Plymouth, Weymouth, London & Teddington and are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Travel to customer sites or meetings will be required.

Role Overview
As part of our exciting growth plans, we are looking for Safety Engineering Consultants at all levels to join our Safety Engineering Capability. As part of the team you will deliver world‑class solutions to our varied client base.
Core Responsibilities
• Passively or actively support the delivery of safety projects to schedule, quality, and budget, while meeting client and corporate expectations.
• Deliver independent and assured safety advice across projects.
• Develop and manage hazard logs, facilitate HAZID and hazard review meetings, author safety assessment / safety case reports, and provide justification for ALARP status.
• Support clients to understand and comply with UK safety legislation and all aspects of UK MOD safety policy.
What We’re Looking For
• Enthusiastic and dynamic team members with a UK Defence background in engineering or system safety, or equivalent experience in professional systems safety or risk management within the infrastructure or energy sectors.
• Experience with UK MOD safety regulation, policy and standards (e.g. DSA, MRP, JSP, ASEMS, POSMS, Def Stan 00‑056/00‑055, JSP815, JSP375).
• Practical experience in developing hazard logs, facilitating safety review meetings and authoring safety assessment reports.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work well in a team.
• Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to professional accreditation such as IEng or CEng; support for achieving registration is available.
• Ability to satisfy UK Ministry of Defence security requirements and eligibility to work in the UK.
• A passion for creating a more environmentally and socially sustainable future.
