Responsibilities: As a Managing Consultant within BMT’s Management Consultancy capability, you will lead and manage client projects from start to finish, ensuring high‑quality technical delivery, strong client relationships and effective budget control. You will work across a range of projects, applying consultancy and domain expertise to deliver practical, value‑based solutions that meet agreed objectives. The role involves guiding project teams, assuring technical outputs and managing resources to achieve successful outcomes within agreed timescales. You will play a key part in shaping and improving consultancy approaches by developing methodologies, analysis, tools and frameworks that support informed client decision‑making. You will also support business growth by identifying viable opportunities and working with the appropriate internal teams to develop them further. Alongside client delivery, you will be involved in internal initiatives such as bids, capability development and professional affiliations. A strong focus on ethics, governance and risk management underpins all aspects of the role, in line with BMT’s values and the MCA framework.

Qualifications: You will bring a solid background in consultancy, with experience of delivering projects on time and within budget, and of assuring project outcomes and deliverables. You work confidently at an independent level across consultancy skills and have advanced capability in relevant technical areas, supported by strong behavioral competencies. You will hold a bachelor’s degree or Level 5 qualification in a relevant field, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience and expertise, and be a member of an appropriate professional body. At least two years’ consulting experience within relevant markets or domains is essential. You will also need to hold, or be eligible to obtain, the required security clearance. You communicate clearly, work well with diverse project teams and build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues. A good level of commercial awareness, including understanding of KPIs and financial information, will support your success in this role. A master’s degree, chartered status or experience in financial analysis would be welcomed but is not essential.
