About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Sonar Specialist who will play a pivotal role in supporting BMT’s planning and operations. You’ll demonstrate and actively maintain deep expertise in sonar, applying your knowledge to meet client needs and provide detailed, specific advice. You’ll collaborate with other specialists where appropriate, recognising the boundaries of your own expertise to ensure the advice given is comprehensive and tailored to the client and their organisation.
Responsibilities
- Define, document and deliver small projects or sub-projects either independently or as part of a small team.
- Involve in all phases of delivery, working closely with the Project Manager to agree the approach, identify and manage risks, support the development of practical project plans, monitor progress against schedules, and manage stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Physics, Electronic/Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body and working towards chartered status.
- Experience leading Sonar Operator/Sensor Employment tasks and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Proven competence in sonar design and operation, measurement and analysis, or modelling.
- Familiarity with working at MOD Abbey Wood or MOD Corsham.
