Description: As a Submarine Safety Engineering Consultant, you will provide technical safety support and advice to submarine and underwater system projects, supporting the UK submarine community. Your knowledge of submarine operations, maintenance, and equipment will ensure safety projects meet schedule, quality, budget, and regulatory requirements. We seek individuals passionate about sustainability and proactive in integrating sustainable practices.
About You: This role suits an ex-Submariner aiming to progress into safety engineering. Experience with Royal Navy submarines and equipment, and knowledge of safety documentation and requirements, is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of safety management for Nuclear Facilities and related regulations
- Experience with safety regulation, policies, and standards relevant to UK MOD submarine safety
- Practical experience in hazard logs, HAZID meetings, safety assessments, and legislation compliance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present professionally
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to professional accreditation (e.g., IEng, CEng)
