Work for a leading engineering and industrial services contractor delivering works on a major Waste-to-Energy facility in Bristol. They are looking for an experienced Instrument Technician to join the project on an initial 6-month assignment, supporting installation, commissioning, calibration and maintenance activities across critical plant instrumentation and control systems. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile energy infrastructure project within a modern process plant environment.
Duties
- Installation and commissioning of instrumentation equipment
- Calibration of pressure, flow, temperature and level instruments
- Loop checking and functional testing
- Fault finding on instrumentation and control systems
- Supporting commissioning and plant start-up activities
- Reading and interpreting P&IDs, loop drawings and schematics
- Assisting with planned maintenance and shutdown activities
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Instrument Technician within an industrial environment
- Strong instrumentation, calibration and commissioning experience
- Experience working on power generation, energy-from-waste, biomass, petrochemical, chemical, water treatment or process plant projects
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control documentation
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems and industrial process equipment
- Relevant electrical or instrumentation qualifications

- Previous commissioning experience on large industrial projects
