A leading engineering and building services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major refurbishment and construction programme across the Thames Valley. This is an opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of secured work, taking ownership of significant M&E packages on technically challenging projects within a live operational environment. You'll work closely with project and commercial leadership teams, playing a key role in protecting commercial performance, managing project risk and driving successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of Mechanical & Electrical packages from procurement through to final account
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation and account settlement
  • Prepare and submit CVRs, forecasts and cost reports
  • Monitor project costs and manage cost-to-complete reporting
  • Administer variations, change control and contractual notices
  • Prepare valuations and support cash flow management
  • Manage subcontractor liabilities and commercial risk
  • Ensure compliance with JCT Design & Build contracts
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and project teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within the M&E / Building Services sector
  • Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience
  • Excellent understanding of JCT Design & Build contracts
  • Experience managing valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced project environments

Desirable

  • Experience working on large-scale MEP projects
  • Background working within healthcare, pharmaceutical, aviation, manufacturing or other complex live environments
  • RICS Chartership, or working towards
  • Relevant HNC, HND or Degree qualification
  • CSCS Card
