Working closely with operational and project teams, you will be responsible for promoting a positive HSQE culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards, and driving continuous improvement across multiple sites.
The Role
- Support project delivery teams on all matters relating to health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace assessments.
- Monitor compliance with company procedures, industry standards and UK legislation.
- Lead or assist with incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Produce reports, inspections and performance data for management teams.
- Coach, mentor and support site management teams in the delivery of HSQE best practice.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across projects.
- Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of management systems and procedures.
- Support environmental compliance and quality assurance activities across all stages of project delivery.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in an HSQE, SHEQ, HSEQ or Health & Safety Advisor role within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction.
- Strong knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and engage operational teams at all levels.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on water, utilities, energy or major infrastructure projects.
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
- Chartered status or working towards a relevant professional qualification.
