Project Administrator / Document Controller to support the delivery of a major live refurbishment project in Swansea.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong pipeline of planned works, refurbishment and remediation projects throughout South Wales.

Whilst this role will initially involve working on a major live project, in Swansea, there are longer-term opportunities available across the wider business for the right person with great potential for career progression.

For this reaosn, this is a permanent role.

However, freelance will be considered with follow-on project work trhoughotu South Wales available on an on-going basis.

The Project

The initial assignment is a 26m occupied residential refurbishment and recladding scheme in Swansea involving:

  • External remediation and recladding works to two large residential blocks.
  • Internal kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes.
  • Works carried out with residents remaining in occupation.
  • Multiple site teams and subcontractors operating simultaneously.
  • Project duration of approximately 18 months.

The Role

Working as part of the project delivery team, you will provide administrative and document control support to the Project Lead, Commercial Manager and Site Management team.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing project documentation, drawings and site records.
  • Maintaining document control systems and project filing structures.
  • Managing document issue registers and revision control.
  • Supporting project reporting and commercial administration.
  • Producing meeting minutes and distributing project information.
  • Coordinating information between site, commercial and project teams.
  • Assisting with quality assurance and compliance documentation.
  • Supporting subcontractor and client communications.
  • Maintaining project trackers, registers and reporting systems.
  • Providing day-to-day administrative support across the project team.

About You

You will ideally have previous experience supporting live construction, refurbishment, housing, maintenance or engineering projects.

The successful candidate is likely to have experience as a

  • Site Administrator
  • Document Controller
  • Project Coordinator
  • Construction Administrator

You should also have

  • Excellent IT and systems skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy project environment.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider project team.

Desirable

  • Experience using

Field View or similar quality management systems.

  • Previous construction or refurbishment project experience.
  • Experience supporting quality, compliance or document control processes.
  • Experience working on social housing, planned works or occupied refurbishment projects.
