A leading UK engineering services provider delivering critical engineering, maintenance, and process improvement solutions is looking to appoint a Process Engineer to support its growing portfolio of industrial and manufacturing clients. You will play a key role in improving performance, reliability and efficiency across live production environments.
This is a hands-on, site-facing role, focused on improving operational processes across manufacturing and industrial facilities. You will work closely with engineering, maintenance and client teams to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements that drive productivity and reduce downtime.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing existing production and process systems to identify improvement opportunities
- Supporting process optimisation, efficiency gains and cost reduction initiatives
- Investigating plant issues, faults and performance gaps, identifying root causes
- Working with mechanical, electrical and automation teams to implement solutions
- Supporting plant upgrades, modifications and continuous improvement projects
- Monitoring performance data and recommending operational improvements
- Ensuring all processes meet health, safety and environmental standards
- Engaging with clients and internal teams to support delivery of engineering solutions
The Environment:
- Industrial / manufacturing / process-led environments
- Work across sectors such as food, FMCG, utilities, chemicals and regulated industries
- Mix of site-based engineering work and office-based analysis
- Focus on operational performance, asset reliability and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working as a Process Engineer, Production Engineer, or similar
- Background within industrial, manufacturing or process environments
- Strong understanding of process optimisation, plant performance and operational improvements
- Ability to analyse data, identify issues and implement practical solutions
- Experience working alongside maintenance, engineering or operational teams
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
Desirable:
- Lean / continuous improvement experience (Six Sigma, CI, etc.)
- Experience within regulated or high-compliance environments
- Exposure to automation, controls or process systems
Pay:
- Permanent: £40,000 – £55,000 (DOE)
- Contract: £300 – £450 per day (CIS / LTD equivalent)
- Ongoing pipeline of work across South Wales and wider UK
- Opportunity to work on a variety of process improvement and engineering projects
