About the Role
We are seeking skilled Mechanical Operatives to join a growing building services team delivering large-scale commercial and industrial installations across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to work on diverse projects such as student residences, schools, universities, offices, and factories.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and assemble mechanical systems including heating, chilled water, hot and cold water systems.
- Carry out pipework fabrication, installation, and jointing techniques (e.g., soldering, press-fit, threading, fusion welding).
- Install bracket systems and position plant such as boilers, air source heat pumps, and storage vessels.
- Undertake testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and decommissioning of mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality control, and environmental standards.
About You
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heating & Ventilation (Commercial), Building Services Installation, or Plumbing Systems (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience in mechanical installation on commercial projects.
- Good understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- IT literacy (Microsoft Office) and full UK driving licence.
- Welding experience and Gas Safe registration would be advantageous.
Working Hours
37 hours per week:
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Some overtime or weekend work may be required. Lodging provided for projects away from home.)
