We're working with a well‑established and growing construction contractor delivering high-quality projects across South Wales and the South West. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the addition of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. This is a great opportunity to join a forward‑thinking business working across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects.
The Role
- Supporting the commercial management of construction projects from pre‑construction through to final account
- Working closely with the Commercial Director and wider project teams
- Assisting with cost planning, budgeting and tender documentation
- Managing subcontract procurement and valuations
- Supporting cost control, cash flow and reporting
- Assisting with interim valuations and final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Liaising with clients, consultants and internal teams
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role (Assistant or QS level)
- Background within construction (residential and/or commercial projects)
- Strong commercial awareness and communication skills
- Ability to manage workload and work as part of a team
- Good understanding of standard forms of contract
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial software
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or working towards)
