A leading building services contractor is looking for an experienced Authorised Person (LV) to support electrical operations on a major infrastructure project in South Wales. This is a long-term freelance opportunity (approx. 8 months), with a planned start in August 2026, working alongside a principal contractor delivery team on a live site.
The Role
- Overseeing and carrying out LV switching operations, ensuring safe systems of work are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as LV Authorised Person (AP) on site
- Carrying out and overseeing LV switching activities
- Issuing and controlling permits to work / isolation procedures
- Supporting energisation, commissioning and handover phases
- Coordinating with site management and principal contractor teams
- Ensuring compliance with H&S standards, site procedures, and electrical safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Authorised Person (LV)
- Strong background in building services / M&E / infrastructure projects
- Experience working on large-scale or complex live sites
- Confident managing:
- Switching procedures
- Permits and isolations
- Safe systems of work
The Opportunity
- Approx. 8-month contract

Rate
- £350 to £450 per day depending on experience and project background
- CIS or LTD payment available
