BMSL require an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee a major food retailer's Deposit Recycle Scheme for Scotland. The projects will be constructed either in current stores, adjacent to the stores, or in the car parks.
The job specification includes overseeing our client's subcontractors who will be responsible for the groundworks, erection of modular units to house the recycling unit, and various internal works. A site manager will also be present on the projects, whom you will need to oversee and report back to our client's operations director.
The first phase of groundworks includes the formation of a new concrete slab approximately 4.8m x 7.2m and service trenches to provide power and data from the existing building, along with adjustments to landscaping. The second phase of the programme will involve the erection of the modular unit. We anticipate that the contractors will be on site for two weeks at each store in the region.
As the Principal Contractor, you will need to be fully conversant with planning, managing, coordinating, and monitoring health and safety, time, and quality. In a live store environment, it is essential to liaise with the Retail store manager and be considerate towards the general public.
CSCS, SMSTS, and full 3-day FAW certifications are essential, and previous experience of working in similar retail environments would be an advantage. Temporary or permanent roles are an option, and rates are negotiable. Please get in touch ASAP with copies of the relevant cards and up-to-date CVs highlighting your experience in this role.
