We’re looking for an experienced ATEX Inspector to support ongoing work on a busy industrial / hazardous area site in Avonmouth. This is working with a specialist Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) contractor, delivering inspection, compliance, and maintenance services across high-risk environments including chemical, energy and process sectors.
The Role
You’ll be carrying out hazardous area inspections and compliance work across site, ensuring equipment and installations meet statutory and safety standards. Duties will include:
- Conducting ATEX / DSEAR inspections on electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Inspecting and verifying installations within hazardous areas
- Identifying and reporting non-compliance and remedial actions
- Supporting maintenance, testing and condition reporting activities
- Ensuring documentation is completed to required standards
- Working closely with engineers, supervisors and client teams

What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience working in hazardous areas on industrial or process sites
- Proven background in inspection, compliance or maintenance within E&I
- Ability to carry out detailed condition assessments and reporting
- Confident working independently and as part of a wider EC&I team
Essential:
- CompEx 01–04 (minimum)
- Previous practical inspection experience (not just CompEx qualified)
Desirable:
- CompEx 05–06 or further hazardous area qualifications
- Experience on chemical, petrochemical, energy or heavy industrial sites
Pay Rates
- £32.00 – £40.00 per hour (depending on experience and inspection capability)
- Ongoing work (not just a short-term contract)
- Weekly pay
- CIS or LTD payment options available
