An experienced Planner is required to provide immediate support on a portfolio of major engineering and infrastructure projects. The ideal person will have an MEP background but this is not essential providing they have experience within the engineering / construction sectors.
With an existing planner leaving the business shortly, we are looking for someone who can join quickly and take ownership of planning responsibilities across complex Mechanical and Electrical packages. Applications are welcomed from both permanent and freelance planners. Temp-to-perm arrangements can also be considered.
This opportunity would suit someone from a Building Services, MEP, Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, Data Centre or Industrial Projects background who is comfortable working closely with project delivery teams and managing complex construction programmes.
The Role
Working as part of an established project delivery team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and controlling project programmes across major MEP works. You will work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Teams, Engineering Teams and Site Management to ensure programmes accurately reflect project progress, risks and delivery requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining Primavera P6 programmes
- Managing construction and installation schedules
- Monitoring project progress and programme performance
- Producing programme updates, reports and recovery plans
- Identifying programme risks and mitigation strategies
- Analysing delays, change and project impacts
- Supporting project controls and forecasting activities
- Working closely with project delivery teams to drive successful project outcomes
- Coordinating planning activities across multiple work packages
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Planner, Senior Planner or Planning Engineer
- Strong Primavera P6 experience
- Mechanical & Electrical (MEP) project experience
- Building Services contracting experience
- Experience working on complex live projects
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and installation activities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively within a project environment
