At BMSI, we're looking for a BMS Energy Engineer to join our growing Sustain Energy Centre (SEC) team based in our brand-new, high-specification office in Daresbury, near Warrington. This is a hybrid role, combining office‑based and home working, with regular attendance at our Daresbury office. This is not a fully remote position, as collaboration with the wider team is an important part of the role.

As part of a fantastic and supportive team, you'll play a key role in helping our customers maximise the performance of their buildings through the use of cutting‑edge remote BMS technologies and energy management solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

Working within our Sustain Energy Centre (SEC), you'll provide remote technical support and assistance to customers across a variety of sectors while helping to identify opportunities for improved building performance and energy savings. You’ll also support the delivery of high‑quality BMS supervisor graphics and system visualisations for a range of projects, helping customers gain valuable insight into their building systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing remote BMS support and fault diagnosis
  • Producing reports and identifying opportunities for energy and system optimisation
  • Developing and maintaining high‑quality BMS supervisor graphics
  • Supporting the creation of system schematics and technical documentation
  • Making system changes and adjustments where required
  • Assisting with project delivery and commissioning support activities
  • Working closely with colleagues to develop innovative solutions for our customers

Following training, you'll be able to independently create graphical interfaces from line drawings and implement machine code modifications to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates with BMS experience, but we’ll also consider individuals with the right technical aptitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A passion for technology, smart buildings and energy management
  • Qualified to A‑Level standard (or equivalent) in Computing, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous BMS experience
  • An interest in:
    • IoT technologies
    • Networking and routers
    • Servers and IT infrastructure
  • Familiarity with web development technologies such as:
    • HTML5
    • CSS
    • JavaScript

Working Hours
