The Role: As a Technical Sales Manager for the South West & South Wales your role will be to develop specification-led business throughout the power & process markets. You will be selling a bespoke system which protects cables & pipes from gas, fire, and water in a variety of applications in these areas and dealing with customer profiles within wind & solar power, battery storage, power distribution companies, petrochemical processing, or other process sectors such as pulp & paper.
This Technical Sales Manager role is dealing with a variety of decision making levels, from applications engineers through to board level, you will research and target these end users to propose new specifications of the cable sealing and protection solution into predominantly new build projects & retrofit assignments. Once the specification has been signed off by the specifier, you will work closely with the EPCs, end users, and Contractors to see the process through to completion.
The Technical Sales Manager will have support from Internal Sales Engineers who are market mapping and providing leads from outbound activity. You will also be supported from the Marketing Team with monthly target campaigns within your sector. This role is a field based position and you will be in the field at least three days per week, looking to meet face to face as much as possible and there will be overnight stays required. This is an exciting position working on a specific vertical, however you will be part of a wider team who will also have focus on different market segments.

They have bolstered their position throughout the last few years through growing their sales team, moving premises, and introducing new products. They are once again experiencing a global recruitment drive to capitalise on their recent success. The UK business has grown by nearly 100% in the last four years and continues on that trajectory across multiple industrial market sectors. They are now in a position to offer new opportunities within their business as a result of internal promotions. Our client are a customer-focused business, have a strong go to market proposition, and have a team of committed individuals pulling in the same direction.
We are looking for sales candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Strong field sales experience in a B2B specification sales role.
- Track record of dealing with M&E Consultants, EPCs, and Main Contractors.
- A good understanding of the entire sales process from spec to close.
- An understanding of the marine/naval sectors &/or the offshore oil & gas markets in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A Mechanical Engineering background would be preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
Package: Base Salary: £45,000-55,000 DOE. Bonus: 30%-40% of basic salary, paid quarterly. Car (hybrids), Pension, Private Healthcare, 23 days holiday (rises to 25 after two years), Phone & Laptop.
