About the Company

We are representing a well-established UK manufacturer known for delivering innovative lightweight structural framing systems to the construction industry. Their cutting-edge approach to off-site and on-site construction enables faster builds, increased accuracy, and improved sustainability. As they continue to expand their design division, they are now looking to hire a Structural Design Engineer to join their in-house team at their West Midlands office.

Role Overview

As a Structural Design Engineer, you'll be focused on the structural design and detailing of steel-based modular framing systems. This is an office-based role, working within a collaborative technical team to support the delivery of lightweight building structures designed for speed, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of steelwork structural design projects through to completion within the design and drawing office.
• Undertake the calculations and detailed design of mid-rise structural systems, up to 8 or 9 stories.
• Liaise directly with external stakeholders to communicate design principles and project intents.
• Provide internal technical support on the structural, fire, acoustic, and thermal aspects of system performance.

Key Requirements

• Minimum HNC/HND qualified, ideally degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar structural design role with a focus on steelworks.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and structural analysis software, with a focus on steelworks.
• Client-facing communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Familiarity with Eurocodes (especially BS EN1993 and BS EN1991 series) beneficial.
• Must have full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).

• £35,000-£45,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)
