We\βre supporting a global engineering group in their search for a Service Engineer to join their St Albans-based team. The company designs, manufactures, and services high-performance pumps and compressors used across heavy industries such as oil & gas, food & beverage, and chemical production.
This is a hands-on, technically engaging role β ideal for an engineer who enjoys fault finding, mechanical repair, and supporting both customers and internal teams with their expertise.
The Role
Working primarily from the St Albans workshop (around 75%), you\βll carry out service, maintenance, and repair activities on a range of industrial pumping and compression equipment. The remaining work will involve visiting client sites across the UK β and occasionally offshore (no more than 4 times per year).
Key responsibilities include:
- Mechanical and electrical fault finding, servicing, and repair of pumps and compressors.
- Providing technical support to clients and internal sales teams.
- Supporting field service activities β installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Ensuring all work meets company quality and safety standards.

About You
You\βre a hands-on engineer with a solid background in rotating equipment β ideally pumps, compressors, or similar mechanical systems. You\βll be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem solving.

- Proven experience working on pumps, compressors, or rotating machinery
- Strong mechanical and electro-mechanical fault-finding ability
- Comfortable with both workshop and field environments
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and work offshore occasionally (no more than 4 times a year)
