Senior Key Account Manager – Beverage Manufacturers and Fresh Food Wholesalers

📍 Location: Field based – a blend of working from home and face to face client meetings.

The Role

This is a highly exciting, rare opportunity to join a global, market leading manufacturer of flexible packaging as a Senior Key Account Manager. In this role you\’ll take full ownership of managing and growing relationships with key customers who will either huge, global drinks manufacturers or wholesalers of fresh products, across the UK and on occasion Europe, to deliver second to none solutions for any requirements they may have for pressure sensitive labels/flexible packaging. In order to truly get the most from these customers, maximizing and growing the opportunity by expanding buyer center coverage, you will need to be a highly skilled and efficient networker with the ability to identify and get in front of, other potential decision makers within your accounts. You will do this by seeking out recommendations/referrals from existing decision makers and your own research.

Your day to day will see you working closely with regional and cross-functional teams which will enable you to deliver tailored account plans for your accounts, driving sales growth, and ensuring exceptional service and collaboration across all touchpoints. You\’ll be the key liaison between internal stakeholders and high-value clients, overseeing tender processes, price negotiations, and long-term strategic partnerships.

As the role does involve managing some accounts with European sites, and the companies head office is in Europe, the role will also offer the opportunity to travel circa 6 times per year so being comfortable with some travel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customer-specific Account Plans aligned with wider commercial objectives
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key contacts across client organisations
  • Coordinate cross-functional support for accounts – aligning commercial, operational, and central teams
  • Lead or support contract negotiations and tender submissions
  • Manage annual sales forecasts including volume and pricing
  • Champion internal communication processes and systems to ensure accurate reporting and decision-making
  • Promote company policies on health & safety, quality, sustainability, and equality

The Person

  • 3-5 years\’ experience within packaging or related industry
  • Either currently be managing or demonstrate recent experience of managing and growing National/Global organisations within the beverage manufacturing industry or fresh food wholesale at either Key Accounts or National Accounts level.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills, at national or corporate account level
  • Experience working within or leading cross-functional team.

  • Competitive basic salary – £70-75k + up to 20% bonus on top.
