We’re partnered with a global leader in legal information, research, and compliance technology. The business provides legislation databases, case law research tools, drafting software, compliance guidance and tax intelligence to law firms and in-house legal teams across every major sector. With a strong UK presence and thousands of customers, the organisation is expanding its account management function and hiring a Sales Team Lead to support growth. This is a well-established, respected brand with deep market penetration and ambitious plans, backed by significant global resources.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a team of six Account Managers who each manage a portfolio of 120–150 existing customers. Your mission is to elevate team performance, drive revenue growth, and ensure exceptional client experiences across the entire portfolio. You’ll take ownership of coaching, performance management, and day-to-day operational leadership. This includes running regular 1:1s, call coaching, reviewing pipeline coverage, improving account prioritisation, and ensuring the team consistently executes against activity, retention and upsell targets. The environment is data-driven and structured, so you’ll use Gong, CRM reporting and team metrics to spot areas for improvement and create clear development plans. As the team grows, you’ll play a key role in shaping culture, building capability, and ensuring the AM function continues to scale effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and coach a team of six desk-based Account Managers.
- Drive performance across activity, retention, expansion revenue and value growth.
- Support AMs with deal strategy, qualifying opportunities, and improving customer outcomes.
- Use enablement tools (Gong) and CRM insights to improve effectiveness.
- Monitor call quality, pipeline metrics, conversion rates and engagement.
- Own team forecasting, reporting and performance reviews.
Requirements:
- 2+ years leading an inside sales or account management team.
- Strong understanding of sales process, performance metrics and coaching.
- Experience managing B2B commercial or subscription-based sales teams.
- Comfortable in a KPI-driven environment with structured reporting.
- Confident leading deal reviews, pipeline conversations and performance plans.
- Able to travel to Leeds one day per week.
The Package
