Lead and develop a growing electronics team with real autonomy and influence. Shape future products and technology direction within an established, supportive organisation. Report directly to director level, offering visibility, impact, and progression. I am supporting a long-standing engineering and technology business in their search for an Electronics Design Manager to oversee a team of seven and drive forward innovation across new and existing product lines.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Guiding, supporting, and developing a team of seven electronics engineers to deliver strong technical output.
  • Overseeing day-to-day design activities and providing practical, hands-on technical direction.
  • Coordinating multiple design projects, ensuring smooth progress from early concept through to final delivery.
  • Reviewing and refining electronic designs, schematics, PCB layouts, and prototypes.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance current products, development processes, and tools.
  • Working closely with internal teams such as project management, software, mechanical, production, and commercial functions.
  • Contributing to recruitment, team structuring, and performance development.

What You Bring

  • Solid background in electronics design with practical, time-served experience - Degree ideal.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise an engineering/design team.
  • Confidence working with embedded systems, PCB design tools, and modern development methods.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once.
  • Clear communication style and the capability to work closely with director-level leadership.
  • Full right to work without the need for sponsorship.
