· Strategic new business position targeting the UK, Europe, and North American markets

Business Development Manager – OEM
The Role:
As a Business Development Manager you will be executing a global sales strategy in the key regions of Europe & the US selling a range of engineered and lightweight foam products which are used in a vast array of applications globally. This Business Development Manager role will concentrate on the Transport, Smart Technology, and OEM market sectors for this global business which will see their products in automotive, aerospace, medical, military, and specialist industrial packaging applications.
You will be targeting whoever has the design authority within these markets across the defined geography such as Design Engineers, Prototype Engineers, and Manufacturing Directors. Typically you will work with either the end user brand or their tier 1 OEM partners to ensure your solutions are designed in, approved, and taking the sales through to a production purchase order. Then when that process is complete, pass to the regional account management team in Europe or the US who will continue the relationship post-project and manage the ongoing business relationship. The Business Development Manager will naturally benefit from any additional sales which happen after this point for a period of time in order to focus on new, strategic, new business acquisition.
Based in either the UK, Europe, or the US, the Business Development Manager will work remotely 50% of the time and be travelling across the region the other 50% working closely with internal teams in both the UK and US. The beauty of this role is that the data and market information is there to go at, this business have invested heavily in market mapping activities and know where they want to go. What they now need is an experienced operator, who has been in those circles before, to execute this strategy and be very well rewarded for doing so.
The Company: This business are an impressive, innovative, and long-established British based manufacturer of lightweight & technical foam products used across a range of applications globally. They work with, and supply, some of the biggest brand names in consumer goods, construction, and smart technologies & transportation. They are a rapidly growing business who have just come off the back of a new sales a strategy which will see them target vertical markets, rather than focus on product groups. They have offices in the UK, Europe, US, and far east which is lead by an inspiring senior leadership team who are committed to supporting their OEM & end user customers globally and increasing market share through beating the competition and also sourcing brand new markets to target.
We are looking for sales candidates who meet the following criteria:
· Have a deep understanding of working with Design Engineers within OEMs globally
· Track record of new business development, onboarding new projects & clients in this space
· A strategic new business mindset, an ability to spot new opportunity for product placement in specifications & technical drawings
· An appreciation of the length of sales process in specification sales at this level
· A consultative, technical, sales approach – influencing at all levels
· Coming from a technical education would be very advantageous
· Ideally having route to market experience across any of the following: Military, Medical, Specialist Packaging, Automotive, Aerospace
· Excellent communication skills
Package:
Base Salary: £60,000-80,000 DOE
Bonus: 30% of basic salary for hitting target, paid annually (January), plus bumper commissions schemes on top of this for over-achievement.
