An exciting opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join a well-established, independent organisation operating at the forefront of the ophthalmic sector. This is a full time, permanent role focused on growing presence across the South West through a balanced mix of new business development and key account management.
As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving territory growth within secondary care, working closely with key opinion leaders including consultants, nurses, pharmacists, procurement teams and clinical decision makers. Using a consultative, evidence-based approach, you will open new accounts, develop long-term partnerships and position a broad portfolio of ophthalmic treatments and solutions. The role offers autonomy and ownership of the territory, while being supported by a knowledgeable and collaborative internal team.
The successful Area Sales Manager will be comfortable navigating NHS structures and procurement pathways, and confident presenting clinical and commercial value to a wide range of stakeholders.
The Role:
- Develop and execute a strategic territory plan across the South West.
- Win new business and expand existing accounts within secondary care.
- Build strong, credible relationships with clinical and non-clinical decision makers.
- Deliver consistent revenue growth through structured account management.
- Represent the business professionally at meetings and events.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level.
- ABPI qualification.
- Proven secondary care sales experience.
- Background in pharmaceutical or ophthalmic sales.
- Strong understanding of NHS procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, influencing and planning skills.
